EAM Jaishankar Arrives in Australia, Set to Open New Indian Consulate in Brisbane
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Brisbane on Sunday, embarking on a five-day visit aimed at strengthening India-Australia ties. A highlight of his visit will be the inauguration of India’s fourth consulate in Australia, along with co-chairing the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue (FMFD) alongside Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Canberra.
Expressing his enthusiasm on X, Jaishankar wrote:
“Namaste Australia! Landed in Brisbane today. Looking forward to productive engagements over the next few days to advance India-Australia friendship.”
The minister’s schedule from November 3-8 includes Australia from November 3-7, where he will deliver a keynote speech at the Second Raisina Down Under’s inaugural session at Australia’s Parliament House. He will also engage with Australian leaders, parliamentarians, the Indian diaspora, business representatives, media, and think tanks.
